Vienna Malt originated in the capital of the extensive Austrian empire where amber lager style beers were king. kilned at a higher temperatures than pale
malt. Vienna Malt will give golden hues to other beers and increases body and mouthfeel. It is sometimes used as base malt in all-malt grists but normally would not make up more than 40% of the grain bill. It is lighter and sweeter than Munich malt.
The subtle malty flavours associated with Vienna Malt provide toffee and caramel notes.
